CALIFORNIA FISH AND GAME CONSIDERING SALMON CATCH REGULATIONS

When the California Fish and Game Commission (FGC) meets on Wednesday, they will consider adopting catch regulations for the 2013 recreational salmon season.  Last week the the Pacific Fishery Management Council adopted seasons for federal waters, and most expect the FGC to follow.

Anticipated season limits include:

From the Oregon-California border to Horse Mountain (Humboldt County), the season will run from May 1-September 8.

In Fort Bragg and Shelter Cover, the season will run from April 6 - November 10.

From Point Arena to Pidgeon Point, the season will run 7 days a week, through November 10, except from June 1-July 9 when Mondays and Tuesdays are closed to fishing.

From Pidgeon Point to the U.S.-Mexico border, the season will run 7 days a week, through October 6, except from June 1-July 9 when Mondays and Tuesdays are closed to fishing.
