Peru to Evaluate Hake Fishing

The Peruvian Ministry of Production has authorized exploratory fishing of hake in a small area off the northern end of Peru.  The exploratory fishing was to take place on April 29th.  

In late March, the Peruvian government issued a ban on hake fishing to protect the spawning peak.  The exploratory fishing day will provide scientists with data on the hake spawning season, and will aid the government in establishing new quotas and seasons.
